An update on the works at Wood Hill, Old Dalby
The long delayed works at Wood Hill will commence its first phase next Tuesday with boreholes being taken at intervals up the slope. This work is scheduled to last from Tuesday until the following Wednesday (weather permitting). Temporary lights will be in place during this period to allow the contractor to work safely.
This is just the prelude to the main sheet-piling work. The boreholes will need to be be analysed by a soils lab in order that the sheet-piling contractor can properly design the sheet pile proposal and identify the correct machinery to sucessfully drive the piles. This means that there will be an interval between next week’s borehole work and the further sheet-piling phase. A definite timescale can’t be given but it is likely that the sheet-piling will not commence until just after Christmas.
