Leicestershire County Council

Joe was first elected to represent the Melton Asfordby Division on the Leicestershire County Council in 2005. During his first term he was appointed Cabinet Support Member for Adult Social Care, but was soon moved to be Cabinet Support Member for Highways & Waste.

In 2008 Joe roles changed to Cabinet Support Member for Community Safety and Regulatory Services, which involves liaising with the Police, Fire services, NHS, Voluntary Sector, District Councils, Probation Service and the CDRP’s in the seven districts of the County. Other committee appointments are to the Pension Fund Management Board and the Leicestershire County Council Highways Forum for Melton.

The Election of 2009 resulted in Joe holding his Conservative seat, increasing his share of the vote polling 59.5%.

Joe supports all of the Parish Councils & regularly attends their meetings. He also continues to make himself available to all by email, phone or visits to residents homes.
